Environment<\/h1>\n

Ter Hooge has, due to its varied landscape types special natural values.<\/h2>\n

In addition to the diversity of trees, many ornamental shrubs and exotics have been planted at the edges of the meadows. Spring flowers such as the stemless keyflower, snowdrop, wood hyacinth, garlic mustard and winter aconite are characteristic of the historic country estate. Plants and animals<\/h2>\n

More than 200 species of mushrooms appear in autumn. There are also many birds: about 40 species breed in the area. Striking breeding birds are the blue herons that have their nests high in the trees. There are also many species of butterflies on Ter Hooge. In recent years, a small deer population has re-established itself on the estate! These animals need peace and quiet, they can quickly panic if they are chased.<\/p>\n

Visitors<\/h2>\n

Visitors can freely walk through the area on the available (unpaved) paths. Two routes have been set out, one through the park forest and the other through the surrounding meadow area.
